The fight is over, and yet it's not over

Lectures of the IV. International Vámbéry Conference (2005)
2006
Our community, which is called upon to cherish the Vámbéry heritage, met for the fourth time in Dunaszerdahely. Our volume is based on the material of this meeting. However, as is usually the case at such times, the participants of our meeting and the authors of our volume are not entirely identical. One of its founding members, István Seres, who was in Mongolia, was unable to attend our conference. However, our friend felt it his duty to at least symbolically represent himself in the ranks of our community; the edited version of his lecture sent to the conference can be found among the writings of the volume. Miklós Sárközy, a young luminary of the Károli Gáspár Reformed University, and Péter Wágner, a colleague of the Institute of Foreign Affairs, also honored our volume with an article, who at the time of our conference, although not in the same place, were both treading the soil of the East in the footsteps of Vámbéry.
