The reader can become a part of the continuation of an experiment that is still quite unusual in the Hungarian-speaking area, although not completely without precedents and parallels. The joint initiative of the Vámbéry Civic Association of Dunaszerdahely and the Lilium Aurum Book and Magazine Publishing House set itself the goal of combining the flexibility of civil initiative and the thoroughness of academic science for a common goal, the exploration of Ármin Vámbéry’s oeuvre. Having presented the results of our work to the public for the second time, we can now confidently state that our experiment was successful.
The research community participating in our work, whose composition varies from time to time, like all living organisms, has truly become capable of participating in the joint work on its own, for its own pleasure, but still for the benefit of everyone. It can rightly be said about this community that it is able to work in the most modern and at the same time most effective way, as a true scientific network. This means that the members of our community are always able to work together in the most expedient way. With the publication of our second volume, we can proudly announce that we are ready to organize the next conference and publish its results. Taking into account the fact that the publication of Vámbéry's oeuvre continues in parallel, we can proudly announce that we can present to the reader a snapshot of the activities of a living and productive professional community.
