On July 7, 2002, as part of the 8th Bridge Days, a monument was inaugurated in Marcelháza in honor of the deportees and those who were deported. Árpád Duka Zólyomi, vice-president of the MKP, József Halzl, president of the Rákóczi Association, and Dezső Édes addressed the gathering on behalf of the former deportees. Following the inauguration ceremonies, an exhibition of Róbert Varga's photos was opened, and historian Csaba Fehér gave a lecture on the years following the war. The series of events ended with a cultural program and a street ball.
