Monument to the 70th anniversary of the deportation

The deportation of Hungarians from Czechoslovakia after World War II was commemorated in Tallós. The commemoration began with a mass held in the local Roman Catholic church on October 14, 2017. Following the unveiling of Tibor Tórök's work commemorating the victims of the deportations, a performance by students from the local elementary school took place in the community center. ; On the occasion of the memorial day, József Gágyor's new local history volume, "Even the soul trembles in man," was presented. ; ; The events of 1947 are eternal stains of shame in history. The memory of those deported is preserved by a headstone and a marble monument in the center of the village. ; • Deportation to the Czech Republic: 50 families, 199 people, of whom 108 were children. ; • Internal resettlement also took place simultaneously with the deportation. From the Bytča area, approx. 8 Slovak families, 42 people were moved to Tallós. ; • Resettlement to Hungary: 58 families, 216 people, of which 116 were children. ; • Slovaks who settled in Tallós from Hungary (from Tótkomlós and its surroundings): 151 people (approx. 45 families).
