Monument to the heroic dead of the two world wars
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
The memorial to the victims of World War I was built with donations from the Vők volunteer fire department and the entire village. The memorial statue was made by the Somorja stonemason Ferenc Schwantner and was consecrated on May 21, 1934. On the pedestal stands a bust of a soldier with a lowered flag, a relief of the Virgin Mary and a broken cart wheel. Behind the soldier stands a cross with a large stone body. On the pedestal is a black marble plaque with the names of the victims. Later, on the other side of the pedestal, a plaque for the victims of World War II was placed.
