VII. International Vámbéry Conference. Our speakers participated in an unprecedented number. A total of twenty-five presentations were given, the sequencing of which posed no small task for the event organizers. Gone are the days when, for example, at the first conference, we had to worry about finding enough, high-quality presentations to fill the available space. In recent times, on the contrary, the confusion of abundance and the pressure to select have left their mark on the organization of the conference. It is therefore understandable that there were indeed colleagues for whom we could not squeeze a place in our event, even with the best of intentions. Although this saddened us as much as it left our colleagues in awe, it is also a sign of the welcome progress that has characterized our enterprise over the past decade.
