The district court

Building, structure

The construction of the current court building was ordered by the president of the Bratislava court based on the decree of the Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Hungary of February 22, 1906. ; The construction site opposite the former cemetery (approximately 400 square meters) was donated for this purpose by József Tauber from Dunaszerdahely in 1902. ; The design of the district court, as well as its construction in 1907, was carried out by the well-known Dunaszerdahely architect, József Wyberál. ; In the 1930s, the building was expanded, and new prisons and a guardhouse were built next to it - however, these were removed in 1956, and a part of the current Perfects building was built in their place. ; In 2015, one of its wings was expanded and “distorted” with a “modern” part of the building – unfortunately, it completely disregards the style of the original building and is essentially completely amateurish from an architectural point of view. ; The court building was previously home to the land registry office, the state notary office and the district prosecutor’s office.
