The Reformed Church of Hontfüzesgyarmat
Building, structure
In the second half of the 16th century, as a result of the spread of the Reformation, the population of the village also converted to the new faith. In the early days, the Calvinists used the church built between 1423-42, but it was confiscated from them in 1711 and could not be returned even after the Edict of Tolerance (1781). Therefore, their first concern was the construction of the church. Having obtained permission, they built their church in the classicist style between 1781 and 1784 - it was substantially transformed and renovated in 1900 - and then in 1793 they began to build the tower. The church pulpit is a Baroque-classicist work from the era of church construction, and the manor hall was made of red marble in 1868.
