The Reformed Church in Győrneki
Building, structure
The first mention of the church of the Reformed congregation in Győrneki is in the visitation record of 1662, according to which the church was in very poor condition. In 1695 it was repaired and a wooden tower was erected above it. In 1804 a fire destroyed the entire village and the church buildings. The neighboring dioceses and the Bars vicarage rushed to support the poor parish with a total of 868 forints in donations, and in 1805 the new church was built on the foundations of the old church. In 1823 it was again destroyed by flames, but was soon rebuilt. In 1840 a tower was added.
