A statue made for the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Csemads

The statue of local woodcarver Zoltán Zilizi was unveiled at the festive meeting of the Csemadok foundation, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the foundation. ; Excerpt from the festive speech of Lívia Jurás, president of the Csemadok foundation: ; Dear Csemadok members, distinguished guests! ; The small sapling that the founders planted 65 years ago has now grown into a sprawling oak tree, which clings to the beloved motherland with thousands and thousands of roots, which, although smaller and narrower, is still ours. Let us take care of it, protect it, protect it! On the occasion of the sixty-fifth anniversary, we would like to leave a monument, a symbolic and lasting memory for posterity. The monument was made by Zoltán Zilizi, a woodcarver from Pered, whom we can honor here in our circle. Zoltán Zilizi is one of those artists who, drawing on the roots of folk art, has been creating beautiful works for decades, some of which we could admire at the exhibition of his works at last year's village day. When Csemadok asked him to carve a monument on the occasion of the 65th anniversary, he said yes without thinking. After all, he is a Csemadok member himself, and he experiences everything that the association's activities, existence, struggle, and attachment to its roots mean. We placed the work in the lobby of the cultural center, and today, after the festive meeting and the cultural program, we would like to hand it over to the currently actively working management, our cultural groups affiliated with Csemadok, and all Csemadok members who keep the flame alive.
