The 930-year-old Hetény memorial plaque

The first written mention of Hetény dates back to 1075, which is found in the CODEX DIPLOMATICUS ET EPISTOLARIS SLOVACIAE. This codex was published in Bratislava. ; “And I gave a place called Santa, arable land, pasture and meadow, a large forest by the Danube, water use rights and forty water houses defined by their own borders. And to Komárom, three arable lands and the right of use in the same Danube, which is called WAGETUIN.” ; A letter from the Esztergom Crusaders’ Convention (Keresztzesek) in Esztergom dates back to 1223, in which they sell their land in Hetény to Hogel, the archdeacon of Komárom, for 3 marks of silver. This letter is also in the Budapest National Archives under number 248142, identification number: 260. A letter of unknown content from 1258 mentions our village as Hetyn. ; In 1228, our village is mentioned in documents as Villa Heten. ; In his will, Master Mikó bequeaths his estate in Hetyn to the Archbishop of Esztergom. In 1305, the lands of Hetény once again come to Esztergom. ; The first document that was prepared and written in HETÉNY is from 1307. In the document, Archbishop Tamás gives the nobles permission to build a chapel in KIS-BUCSÁNY. The text on the document is written in Hungarian. ; The letter of the regional judge Paulus was written in Visegrád in 1345, in this letter Heten is mentioned 48 times.
